Karate CollegeDr. Jerry Beasley held his Karate College again this past weekend
in Radford, VA.This is always a good event.We taught several
classes on Hakutsuru Kenpo and Jujitsu. The students were able to absorb
the information very well even though many of the attendees were not
traditional stylists per se. We covered the hakutsuru so (Gokenki
sanchin) and niseishi kata. All the bunkai were reviewed with pressure
point applications, kumite waza and body conditioning. We also reviewed
four yakusokukumite (two-man prearranged sparring kata). There were a
number of notables there including Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis, Michael
Depasquale, Willie BamJohnshon, Joe Hess, Renzo Gracie, Matt Sera &
Scott Yates.
Summer Camp 2008! Let the beatings begin!Getting ready for Summer Camp. The camp will be August 1, 2 & 3 in
the mountains of Tennessee. Quite a few people have already signed up
[more than half of our capacity]. So reserve your spot on the dojo floor
now! This year is going to better than ever. People are finally figuring
out what a great martial arts event this camp is. Train all day, party
at night and then soak in your hot tub and gaze at the stars in a
